This project began with extensive research to craft a design that authentically represents the people of India, steering clear of political symbols such as the national flag. Inspiration was drawn from the Stories of India Woven in Thread exhibit at the Melbourne Museum, which highlighted India’s rich textile traditions, along with Indian architecture, floral motifs, and geometric patterns.

During the concept phase, I developed and presented several creative directions, exploring vibrant color palettes, intricate patterns, and bold typographic treatments. These initial concepts helped establish a clear visual tone and provided a foundation for collaboration with Indian artist, Sid Pattni.

The final cover design combines bold typography with decorative floral and architectural details, creating a look that is both striking and deeply rooted in Indian artistry.
